Brief, easy-to-understand chapters offer precise descriptions without sacrificing depth. Not sure why precisely — I don’t always find theology gripping. Quite good, but don’t expect long explanations on many biblical issues, esp. Snap shots, sound bites, well crafted sentences with depth and nuance behind them all in one small, accessible book.

This is a must read for the false doctrines that are circulating in our culture. One of the best basic introductions to theology I have read.

Packer provides easily-digestible bites of doctrine for the curious believer. Loaded with Scripture references and covering each major doctrine with brevity and clarity, it serves as both a good intro to each doctrine as well as a great little quick reference for where to do further study on each area from the Scriptures.

Scripture references should be checked, theological concepts should be pondered, and further research should be done in response to any theologt feelings one has toward comments made in this book. Christians disobey God and impoverish themselves by refusing to join with other believers when there is a local congregation that they can belong to.

I really want to read it. I have many systematic theology volumes in my library, nearly all of which go in to far greater detail.
