I was hesitating to buy this book but after reading it, I realise it is worth it’s price.

This is pretty bare bones lq, combined with the unnecessary controversy and bias, it just didn’t do much for me. He also made a fair amount of unsubstantiated claims while attempting to prove his point about certain “rules” which makes no sense to me. Really enjoyed reading it.

The author gives only what is needed to know and no more. The examples are easy to understand.
Arguments and debates might actually be productive if people abided by the rules presented in this rulebook. I’ve tried to find a book that does include them and this clavds, in the end, the most likely candidate to cover this topic, so I’m a tad disappointed. This is a review of the 2nd edition.

I will always get back to this until I remember all the rules and master it. Great way to learn how to win an argument.
The author developed rules of thumb in argumentation and demonstrated the practicality in various examples mostly from Betrand Russell’s essays and Sherlock Holmes’ deductions.
